I was like WTF, to learn how to play I must play a mode that isn’t teaching me, instead it’s a mode where I need to face challenges with a pass or fail. There is a tutorial, but it is as basic as they come, and the game even tells you to check out the challenge mode to ‘learn’ more of how to play. What you must know is that it is not a game that holds your hand. There are a few modes for players to enjoy, including Single Player, Multiplayer, and Challenge mode. Publisher Focus Home Interactive thought it might make a good console title, so they got it ported over to the Xbox One, and it has made the transition pretty well. By gaming standards, it garnered quite a following, and this indie game has been a hit for quite some time.

Spintires: Mudrunner is not a new game per se, as it was released on PC about 3 years ago. It’s also a game that when I first started playing, I hated, but after an hour or two I started to see the ‘hook’, shall we say, and I was somewhat enamored by what Saber Interactive created. It’s a game that actually makes you think when playing, as you navigate through muddy trails, tree lined dirt roads, deep water puddles, and even cross a river or two. Yes, like so many driving games out there, you drive vehicles, but these vehicles are off-road monsters that can tackle some pretty rough terrain. I checked out the game’s trailer and discovered that it is a title that is not your traditional driving game, and I thought “why not”.

The Old-timers DLC pack is also available for free today.When looking at our list of those games that still needed to be reviewed, I came across a title called Spintires: Mudrunner. MudRunner and MudRunner: American Wilds are available now for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. More news and information about MudRunner 2 will be revealed soon, so stay tuned.
We’re delighted to bring the community more content and additions to the game, free of charge, as we build up to the release of MudRunner 2 in the coming year. The US-based Rocky Hills is more challenging than a normal map, giving MudRunner veterans a new height to aim for in a new style of gameplay – this map has no garage and an off-road climbing puzzle is the main feature. Though both of these trucks originate from the US and are officially licensed, the Old-timers DLC will not require the American Wilds expansion to install.
It works with a number of add-ons from the base game and American Wilds expansion.

Also in this update is the GMC DW950, a short-hooded truck from the ‘50s designed for logging expeditions. Compatible with a number of existing add-ons, it also brings two new ones: a scout trailer and a loaded log cart, the latter of which is exclusive to the new Rocky Hills map. Included is the Chevrolet NAPCO 3100, a 1957 model by General Motors with minor modern updates to make it able to handle MudRunner’s treacherous fields. Two vintage vehicles, one with two unique new add-ons, combine with the new Rocky Hills map to give all players new reasons to jump back into MudRunner. Rev-up the nostalgia with MudRunner: Old-timers, the latest free DLC pack for the world’s ultimate off-road experience MudRunner, the hardcore mud-drenched driving sim from Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive, is getting a new map, new vehicles, and brand new add-ons as part of the free DLC Old-timers releasing today for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch players everywhere. In addition, more news on MudRunner 2 will be revealed soon. The new DLC pack Old-timers adds two vintage vehicles and a new Rocky Hills map to the game.
